Stephanie Chow is a professional guitarist, bassist, and producer based in NYC with 15+ years of instrumental experience. With a degree in jazz studies from Columbia University and musical background encompassing jazz, R&B, roots, soul, classical, and rock, she loves to share her passion for music with others through both performance and teaching. As a guitarist, she's played in venues ranging from Radio City Music Hall and Terminal 5 to Off-Broadway productions, The Grammy Museum. As a producer she's worked on records achieving a cumulative 7 million+ streams and collaborated with artists such as Fana Hues, Black Hibiscus, Phendste, & Wakai. She has received recognitions from the American Composers Federation, National Association for Music Educators, Ella Fitzgerald Foundation, Downbeat and more.
Her teaching style is warm, encouraging, and tailored to each student's musical goals, with an emphasis on learning fueled by exploration and nurturing each student's innate curiosity. Whether that means learning how to play classic rock oldies, arrange a video game soundtrack, improvise and write new music, she's eager to accompany you down any one of the myriad of possible creative paths to be explored!
