Alicia Rando,

Award winning violinist Alicia Rando has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. Alicia made her solo recital debut at the age of 8 years old. At the age of 10, she made her orchestral debut with the Castellon Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Wolfgang Czeipek.

Her notable solo performances include the “Moscow Meets Friends Festival” (Russia) hosted by the Spivakov Foundation, frequent performances at the Ehemalige Spanishe Residenz in Bonn (Germany), appearances at the Spanish Music Festsival of Cadiz (Spain), recitals in the “Fiestas del Pilar” Festival in Zaragoza (Spain), concerts at the Shenzhen Concert Hall Shenzhen (China), performances at Queen Elizabeth Hall (United Kingdom) and “La Verdi” Hall of the Milan Auditorium (Italy).

In 2010, Alicia participated in the 30th Introduction to Music Series where she was accompanied by the Lyric Theatre of Zaragoza Symphony Orchestra. Subsequent orchestral performances include three concerts with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia, the Valencia Symphony Orchestra with Constantino Martinez Orts, and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Antioquia conducted by Camilo Giraldo. In 2015, she performed Kurt Weill’s Concerto for violin and wind orchestra with the CSMA Sinfonietta Orchestra and in 2017 she performed Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Real Sitio Symphonic Orchestra.

In 2019, Alicia represented Spain in the “International Students Concert and Gala” hosted by the Manhattan School of Music in Miller Hall (New York). She was featured in several radio programs on Aragon Radio (Spain), in television reports on Chanel 2 of Spanish Television and local Aragon Television and was highlighted in the “Young Soloists” program of Spanish television.

Alicia was a prize winner in multiple national and international violin competitions, including the 7th National Contest of Interpretation “Intercentros Melómano”(Best String Artist & Second Prize), the 11th International Violin Competition “Villa de Llanes” (Third Prize), the Third National Violin Competition in memory of Marcos Pedro Moreno (First Prize), the 8th International Violin Competition “Violins for Peace” held in Torres (First Prize). In 2018, she was a finalist in the “Musical Youths of Spain” Competition.

Alicia began her violin studies at the age of 5 with Professor Maria Popa at the Conservatorio Profesional de Musica de Teruel (Spain). Since the age of 8, she studied with Sergey Fatkulin in Madrid and Kirill Troussov in Münich. She finished her Bachelor of Music at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Aragaon in Zaragoza, Spain in June 2015 (at the age of 16), and she obtained a master’s degree in Solo Performance at the Katarina Gurska Centre in Madrid. She has recently acquired a Professional Studies Certificate at the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Peter Winograd and Patinka Kopec.

She has participated in training courses and masterclasses with notable artists such as Nikita Boriso-Glebsky, Elmar Oliveira, Mario Hossen, Roi Shiloa, Massimo Quarta, Friedemann Breuninger y Mikylah Myers McTeer. In addition to solo performance, Alicia is a member of the Hiberus Trio.

In addition to her work in the world of music, Alicia is a proponent of quality youth education and is a Youth Ambassador for Transdiaspora Network, an NGO that is in consultative status with ECOSOC at the United Nations.
