Luis McDougal

Luis McDougal (b.1997) is a guitarist, composer and improviser of several traditions including jazz, blues, rock, funk, avant-garde and Latin American styles. Having graduated from Berklee College of Music (2019) and Manhattan School of Music (2023), Luis has studied with an array of prestigious artists including Hal Crook, Gilad Hekselman, Julian Lage, Reiko Fueting and Lewis Nielson. One of the hallmarks of his music lies in his exploration of extremes in art and the state of affairs in society. As an artist, Luis aims to reflect on traditions in order to consider the possibility that music can be discovered in a transformative way for individuals and communities.
