Edmund An
Pianist Edmund An is developing a thriving career as a performing artist, having graced on renowned stages throughout China, the United States, and Europe, including Xi’an Grand Theatre, Teatro Principal de Burgos, and the DiMenna Center in New York City. Since 2021,
Mr. An has collaborated regularly with Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, performing many piano concerti. His latest performance of the Shostakovich Piano Concerto no. 2 in July 2024 received widespread acclaim.
In addition to being an active performer, Mr. An is a dedicated educator and is currently on the faculty of Opus One Music in Manhattan, New York City. He is also a music critic, having published a dozen music reviews on professional magazine “Music Weekly”, which has cultivated a substantial following.
After receiving the Bachelor and Master of Music degree at Manhattan School of Music, Mr. An is currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree under the tutelage of Dr. Marc Silverman at MSM, with a double Teaching Assistantship position at Music History and Keyboard Skills Department.
